In April 2020, AAHA conducted archaeological monitoring for the Lorton Reformatory Telecommunications Facility within the National Register Listed District of Columbia Workhouse and Reformatory Historic District project in Lorton, Virginia. The project area consists of a small lease area next to the Steam Heating Plant Building (R-30), a 1932-1933 contributing resource to the historic district. Three brick features were encountered during excavations consisting of two brick pathways (Feature 1 and Feature 3) and a brick well-like feature (Feature 2) squared with the west wall of the main building’s southern addition.
