AAHA is dedicated to achieving an ethical, responsible, and constructive result in all undertakings, from the smallest research project to the largest, multi-disciplinary endeavors. This is achieved through a mindful approach to each project: one that considers not only the tangible goals of progress, but the diverse impacts each project may have on institutions, cultural networks, and communities.
We are conscious that our work does not exist in a vacuum and that the results have the potential to affect people and communities. As such, we are dedicated to the principles of social justice, including incorporating access, equity, diversity, participation, and human rights to all our work.
We strive to achieve a balance between progress and the potential negative impacts of such progress on people and communities. We believe this is a significant responsibility, and with this responsibility ever present, our goal is to facilitate advancement while acting as responsible stewards of our shared past, present, and future.
AAHA is committed to the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, our contractors, our vendors, and our clients. AAHA seeks to form relationships rooted in respect, professionalism, and community. Our goal is to offer each employee a job that meets their unique needs and abilities.
We offer all our staff great flexibility in work and personal time. In addition to standard Paid Time Off (PTO) benefits for full-time employees, we work with our staff to allow for flex time and make accommodations for remote working and flexible daily work schedules. We do our best to ensure our employees enjoy a balanced schedule through a culture of respect, mutual support, and reasonable expectations. That translates to employees better equipped to meet the needs of our vendors, contractors, and clients.
Safety is always our Number One priority, both in and out of the field. We strive to ensure our whole staff is properly trained in safety procedures to protect themselves and others at all times. We are committed to an incident and injury free workplace, but foster a culture of acceptance, assistance, and training rather than punishment or admonishment. This ensures that our staff is dedicated to self-reporting so that safety issues can be addressed in real time, before they become serious.
The result is a Health and Safety program focused on the genuine physical and mental health of our employees. Our extensive safety program features specific Health and Safety Plans (HASPs) generated for each project, efficient incident reporting, and a real-time Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) monitoring system. These systems have successfully reduced our incident and injury rate to very low frequency.
Sincerely,
