From February to May 2020, AAHA conducted a Phase IA archaeological assessment of the Hagerstown Multi-Use Sports and Events Facility property in Hagerstown. By examining previously documented archaeological sites and historic properties in proximity to the Study Area, AAHA was able to identify the possibility of an unmarked cemetery at the edge of the Study Area as well as the high potential for precontact or historic occupation of the site. Unfortunately, due to the extensive construction of the property, many of these archaeological resources may have been destroyed.
