Between September and October 2019, AAHA conducted a Phase III data recovery of the Enclave at Beechfield Site in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Previous investigations identified the site’s potential to address significant research questions concerning the antebellum and postbellum periods in Prince George’s County. The study was designed to collect archaeological data from the site prior to the unavoidable construction impact. These excavations revealed a number of foundation and structural features dating from the late-eighteenth to mid-twentieth century occupation of the site and an undocumented cemetery.
