AAHA conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of the ca. 730-acre Future Expansion of the Dobson Development Area in Brandywine, Prince George’s County, Maryland in September-December 2020.  The large project area required extensive background research, project planning, and field survey.  In total, 5,945 STPs were systematically excavated, recovering 379 artifacts and resulting in the identification of 12 isolated finds, five previously unrecorded archaeological sites, and an expansion of previously recorded archaeological site.  The majority of the identified resources were recommended as not significant and requiring no additional study. One of the sites, a Late Woodland precontact artifact concentration, was determined to potentially retain both integrity and research value, and was recommended for either avoidance or additional archaeological investigations
