In July and August 2021, AAHA conducted a series of Phase II evaluations on 13 sites in Charles and St. Mary’s Counties. These sites fall within a high-voltage electric transmission line and were all identified via pedestrian survey in 1982. The evaluations, which consisted of close-interval shovel testing and limited test unit excavation, found that most of these sites represented ephemeral occupations and had eroded away in the last 29 years.
